"Owners are different from tenants. I know of a couple who rented out their house, and the family who moved in nailed their Christmas tree to the hardwood floors instead of using a tree stand. Expedient, I suppose, and admittedly these were particularly bad tenants, but no owner would be so short-sighted." Jeff Bezos
A Credit Suisse analysis supports this quote from Jeff Bezos, showing that family-owned companies, like dedicated homeowners, have outperformed non-family firms since 2006.
This data reinforces the value of strong ownership and good corporate governance.
In both homeownership and business, those who take long-term view see better results.
